Biography
James Tahhan, better known as Chef James, is one of the most influential Hispanic chefs in America. Born in Venezuela to Syrian parents, he moved to the United States at the age of 13. He is known for being the chef and co-host of Telemundo’s morning show Un Nuevo Día for over ten years, as well as a judge for some of the biggest cooking competition shows, including Master Chef, Chopped, Puro Chef, Top Chef, and Top Chef Middle East, and, most recently, the season finale of Food Network’s, Worst Cooks in America.

Chef James is also the author of the 39-week best-selling book, Cocina en Casa con Chef James and the winner of three day time National Emmy Awards. James has become a leader in the gastronomic world thanks to his love for food, both in front and behind the cameras. His philosophy is that Food can change the world.

Currently, James is the co-host for BELatina on Lifetime Television. The show celebrates Latino diversity, covering topics such as food, fitness and finance. The show serves up content that celebrates the monumental cultural shift across the country; showcasing women’s individuality and multicultural diversity, to create even more space for the evolution of Latina/Afro-Latinx empowerment across multiple themes and talking points.
